AND MR HOSSACK WAS NOT EVEN MY CLIENT!

On this occasion I acted for a business who were being pursued by a disgruntled ex-policeman making a nuisance of himself. It is not often I get to talk about cases, but in this case I get to because Mr Hossack has kindly put this dispute into the public domain! I have not ‘sold’ cars since 1998, and since that time I was running large dealerships as the General Manager, but it gave me a great insight into how to deal with difficult situations and mouthy individuals! I run Reject™ as a ‘no win no fee’ business to make sure my Clients are not exposed to further financial stress whilst matters are ongoing, and they only pay their fee when we succeed in their case! In this particular case we assisted NRJ, a high-quality bespoke car detailing service. They were being hounded by this over-bearing and unusually difficult ex-policeman who accused them of damaging his track-day Porsche. He says they ‘washed it wrong’….. They immediately involved the product manager of GTechniq, one of the most respected car detailing product manufacturers in the world! They sent samples of their product and the component Mr Hossack says was damaged, to their lab and tested the product for chemical attack to an incredibly high degree and found that it did not cause any degradation whatsoever. They gave Mr Hossack a copy of their lab report, but that was not good enough. He still demanded that my Client pay up. What is unknown is who else washed this track-day car? It must have had possibly hundreds of other washes over its life. Track-days are messy affairs with oil, high-octane fuel, brake fluid, clutch fluid, CTFR and who knows what else all coating the cars running at high speed and high temperature. I think these environments are probably the more likely suspects! As for the dispute itself, this chap has been dealt with in a courteous manner, responded to promptly and his various assertions on wrongdoing are a load of nonsense. Unable to articulate himself in a proper manner, he lashes out like this with an ill-thought-out attack, hoping that by stamping his feet he might get somewhere! I think both him and his wife need to take a long hard look at their conduct. Our record keeping is meticulous and as a responsible data-controller, registered with the ICO, we know how to handle our Clients data safely, securely and lawfully. But one thing that Mr Hossack IS right about is that we are VERY financially motivated, and we will work hard for OUR CLIENTS to make sure that they get the settlement they deserve. We always hold OUR CLIENTS at the heart of what we do, and this case is a great example of why YOU should have US on YOUR side!
